So, I always wanted to visit Paris and last summer my wish came true.
I honestly think that Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
Amazing food, beautiful architecture and I was positively surprised with how Parisians are nice and helpful.

One of the things I had to do as an artist is of course visit Louvre Museum and The Orsay Museum (Musée D’Orsay), among the other museums and art galleries.
For my taste, Musée D’Orsay was the most interesting of them all. There I enjoyed seeing some of the paintings of great impressionistic painters like Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro and of course the great Paul Cézanne.

After seeing all that amazing artworks, naturally I was inspired and had to paint my version of Paris.

I’m posting a few pictures of work in progress and of course finished painting.
I hope you like it and if you ever get the chance to visit Paris I truly recommend you doing it.

This year, same as last, I dedicate one painting to arrival of spring, a time when the nature again revives as well as my inspiration for painting.
I especially like the time when daisy flowers bloom because that means more sunlight, and therefore more time for painting outdoors.

I still dream of going to outer space. To see this beautiful blue rock from another perspective, and then to turn around and stare at that vast space. I can only imagine how humble I would feel. I really hope that soon, it will be possible. Then, we could all go out there just for five minutes and maybe then we would all realize how our “problems” are insignificant.
To appreciate things you have, sometimes you have to lose something and to love another you need to learn to be alone.

To me making art is the closest spiritual experience to physically going to outer space.

I caught a little piece of spring the other day while crossing this bridge in my hometown.
This kind of scenery is what I like to paint, gentle rain, reflections on the street and a hint of human presence in the distance.

“Blue ruins of the past”, my new abstract art painting

The last few paintings I decided not to use references, instead I’m trying to rely on instinct and imagination in the composition and choice of colors.

It seems to me that this sort of approach to creating an artwork fulfills, I have a feeling that my latest paintings are somehow emotionally honest. Not that my previous work is not honest, but painting from imagination gives me more freedom in creativity.

“Blue ruins of the past” is created from some of my repressed memories and represents a combination of imagination and faded images of the past.

I definitely plan to explore more possibilities of abstract art with an impressionistic approach in the future.

Abstract landscape painting

New abstract landscape painting finished.

I painted this one only with a big brush, reducing in that way details to basic shapes and concentrating on colors and composition. The most interesting thing in the process was painting in multiple transparent layers and then adding a final thick layer of color.
